Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Requirements
The minimum qualification for admission to the B.tech programme at RIET is a in 10 + 2 (or equivalent) with Mathematics as one of the subjects. Students expecting to complete the minimum requirement by August 2015 may also apply. The detailed list of qualifying examinations is given below.

DETAILED LIST OF QUALIFYING EXAMINATIONS

    The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi
    Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/University.
    Final Examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
    Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system
    H.S.C. Vocational Examination.
    Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.

All the candidates must secure at least 50% marks in aggregate in qualifying examination. The percentage of marks awarded by the Board will be treated as final. If the Board does not award the percentage of marks, it will be calculated based on the marks obtained in all subjects listed in the mark sheet. If any Board awards only letter grades without providing an equivalent percentage of marks on the grade sheet, the candidate should obtain a certificate from the Board specifying the equivalent marks, and submit it at the time of counselling / admission. In case such a certificate is not provided the decision taken by the RIET Admissions Committee, (which follows a standard conversion table) shall be final.
Admissions to the B.Tech. programme is solely on the basis of performance at the Joint Entrance Examination JEE (Main) - 2015, conducted by CENTRAL BOARD OF SECONDARY EDUCATION. Applicants must report in the application form the All India Rank obtained and the marks obtained in JEE (MAIN) 2015.A valid JEE Score will consist of 60% marks obtained in JEE 2015 and 40% of marks obtained in class XII Examination.

Eligibility for admission under Foreign Nationals/PIO/NRI seats

In case of candidates desirous of seeking admission in RIET against Foreign Nationals/PIO/NRI seats for B.Tech. Courses, following approach shall be followed:

Candidates present in India: They are required to compete amongst themselves for the seats reserved for them by appearing in the JEE-2015.

    Candidates living abroad: They are required to produce the test score of Scholastic Aptitude Test II (SAT-II) with permissible combination of subjects, conducted by the Educational Testing Service, Princeton, U.S.A. (in case one of the subjects is Mathematics, it would be Mathematics IIC).

Admission to RIET for students abroad (including NRIs who meet specified criteria) is being done centrally by National Institute of Technology, Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal this year. Please see dasanit.org for Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) scheme of the Government of India.

Foreign Nationals/PIO/NRI shall have to comply with the requirements of Govt. of India, if any, as well as those of Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak (www.mdurohtak.ac.in) as prescribed by them from time to time.

    Candidate should have appeared JEE (Main)-2014.
    Candidate must have passed 12th Science Examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with the percentage of marks/Percentile as to be decided by the Government of Gujarat (GoG) under the rules of admission.

For NRI Category Seats

    Candidate must have passed the qualifying examination abroad and is exempted from appearing in JEE (Main)-2014.
    Candidate will have to produce equivalence certificate of qualifying examination from Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.

For NRI Sponsored Category Seats

    Candidate must have passed the qualifying examination in India and must have appeared in JEE (Main)-2014.
    Candidate will have to produce a sponsorship letter from an NRI who will undertake to pay all tuition and other fees for the entire degree program.
    Documentary evidence of Sponsorer having NRI Status must also be produced.
    In case of Letter Grades / Performance Indices or Graded Point Average is awarded instead of percentage marks in qualifying examination, equivalence certificate is required from school authorities is required on the day of confirmation of admission.

For 50% Seats

Candidate can apply online through Application Form made available on website www.admissionseats.com paying online application form fees of Rs. 1200/- (Rupees One Thousand Two Hundreds Only). Application form should be filled with correct information as per procedure listed time to time.

For NRI Category Seats
Candidate can apply through fill-in web downloadable Application Form made available at website www.admissionseats.com. Duly filled-in forms is to be submitted along with Demand Draft of Rs. 350/- in favour of “Institute of Technology, NIrma University” payable at Ahmedabad.

For 50% Seats

For 35% All India Category Seats

    Online counselling will be carried out for the admission to First Year B. Tech. Programme .
    After each round of counselling process, allotment information will be given to those candidates who have been allotted seats on registered email id and the mobile number using email and SMS, respectively. Candidate has to follow online process for viewing his / her allotment and choose appropriate option related to admission.
    Applicant shall remain present in-person with necessary original documents for verification and confirmation of admission on the notified date.
    If applicant is unable to remain present in person, due to unavoidable circumstances, parent with authority letter from applicant will be permitted, provided the admission committee is satisfied for the genuineness about the applicant’s inability to remain present.
    If applicant does not remain present on the schedule date and time, his/ her candidature deemed to be cancelled.

For NRI Candidate Seats

    Counseling for NRI Category seats will be carried at Institute of Technology,
    Applicant shall remain present in-person with necessary original documents for verification and confirmation of admission on the notified date. (Keep two set of photocopies of original documents)

ADMISSION TO NRI SEATS IN ENGINEERING COLLEGES

Admissions are strictly on the basis of merit.

There are three categories of seats and a seat can be secured in any one of the following categories. The categories are:

a. Seats under centralized allotment by the CEE (Commissioner for Entrance Examinations)

b. Seats under Management Quota

c. Seats under NRI Quota

a.    Seats under centralized allotment by the CEE

To get admission in the Govt. quota, the student has to qualify the Entrance Examination conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examination (KEAM 2014) with high marks and apply on-line according to govt. procedures and prefer Albertian Institute of Science and Technology (Lemon Web Tech) as your choice of Institution. b.    Seats under Management Quota

To get admission in Management quota, the student has to qualify the  Entrance Exam (KEAM 2014). Also, the applicant must secure a pass in the +2 exam (Higher Secondary Examination or Equivalent) with minimum 50% marks for Maths separately and 50% marks for Physics + Chemistry + Maths put together. The date of application, admission etc will be published in our website (www.admissionseats.com) soon after the Kerala Entrance Exam (KEAM 2014). Admission in this category is on the basis of an index giving weightage to the Kerala Entrance Examination Rank and marks of the Higher Secondary Examination or the Equivalent.

c.    Seats under NRI Quota

To get admission in NRI quota, the applicant need not be disqualified in  Entrance Exam. However, he has to have high marks in the +2 exam or the equivalent (a minimum of 50% in Maths separately and 50% in the total of Maths + Chemistry + Physics put together). The student with his parents has to meet the Manager and confirm his NRI seat. Once the admission is confirmed then the student cannot change branch or college. NRI Fee is not refundable. There should be a NRI sponsor (parent or close relative) for the student.
